The Story Unfolds.

The story for One Last Breath is an original story by David Ramirez USMC. A story he shared with me while we were driving back from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. David through his company, Security Alliance, aided Tulane University after it had sustained much damage from the floods. He put together a team of exceptional officers and set up a security post at the University to help secure Tulane as well as the surrounding neighborhoods. I flew up and stayed at the site for a few days.

We left New Orleans on a Sunday morning and went as fast as the Ford F150 could go. No, not for fun. We were trying to beat Hurricane Wilma, which was forecasted to strike Miami that night.

On the way back David mentions this story that kept replaying in his head and it immediately sparked my interest. The first sequence he mentioned was of a soldier on patrol who gets shot by a sniper. So, there I was, drinking my red bull, eating my beef jerky, while he was going 90mph on the highway, and we start to see the outer bands of the approaching hurricane begin to cross over Florida… and this image of this solder laying on the battlefield losing his breath due to a bullet that hit his lung… was permanetly sketched in my mind. I knew then that I had to try and bring this story to life.
